How should you choose WorkBuddy skills?

Choose skills for missing task capabilities rather than installing every popular option.

The short answer

Official guidance discusses provenance, permissions and third-party sharing. Inspect scripts, destinations and writes before installation.

Try it in three steps

  • Check whether existing tools already suffice.
  • Read each candidate's inputs, outputs and permissions.
  • Enable only what is needed and test a small sample.

A practice prompt

Before you start

Inspect descriptions through the documented expert/skills/connectors area without installing; older navigation may differ.

Practice material (fictional)

Need: organize three notes. Candidate A needs network and sends mail; B organizes text only.

Replace placeholders in the prompt with this material, or append the material if there are no placeholders. Reading time excludes doing the exercise.

List capabilities for organizing practice documents and inspect existing tools first. If a skill is needed, list trusted candidates for approval.

What to look for (not a recorded test result)

Check built-in capabilities first. B is narrower if expansion is necessary, but still verify provenance and permissions rather than trusting a name.

If it goes wrong

If invocation fails, inspect enablement and session loading before reinstalling.

Check your result

You can explain the need and verify invocation and output.
