How do you use AI for a weekly report honestly?

Separate completed, ongoing, planned and blocked work.

The short answer

AI can organize notes but must not turn intention into delivery. Attach an inspectable artifact or record where available.

Try it in three steps

  • Label each raw note with its actual state.
  • Attach an output or state that none exists.
  • Check that the rewrite does not exaggerate outcomes.

A practice prompt

Before you start

Classify fictional weekly notes without turning plans into results.

Practice material (fictional)

Monday: organized 3 practice documents. Tuesday: unreviewed draft. Wednesday: publication planned but not done. Thursday: waiting for specifications.

Replace placeholders in the prompt with this material, or append the material if there are no placeholders. Reading time excludes doing the exercise.

Organize completed, ongoing, blocked and planned work. Do not claim publication or delivery without evidence: [notes].

What to look for (not a recorded test result)

Organization is complete, draft unreviewed, publication not done and specifications blocking. Do not report all four as successful delivery.

If it goes wrong

Specify testing scope instead of turning one passing example into complete validation.

Check your result

Readers can distinguish actual outputs from intentions.
